Headaches
Headaches are considered by some to be one of the
most frequent complaints, and have been identified as the fifth most common reason for chiropractic treatment.
A study conducted in 1977-1978 indicated that headaches were the 11th most frequent reason for a visit to the
doctor. It is estimated that one person in three suffers from severe headaches at some point in life. Recent
evidence suggests that chiropractic treatments can reduce the number of headaches by half.
Most persons afflicted with mild recurrent or isolated headaches do not consult
physicians, therefore, the true incidence is unknown. If you live in Wichita and you have
headaches,
call Hancock Chiropractic today. One recent survey demonstrated that in some
populations, 70-90 percent of subjects questioned admitted to having at least one headache in the previous year,
with a similar incidence reported in children. Almost none of these sought the help of a chiropractor. Hancock
Chiropractic encourages everyone that experiences headaches to make the chiropractor their first stop. Another
study conducted in Scandinavia indicated that 75 percent of children reported having had significant head pain by
15 years of age.
World-wide, more than 13,000 tons of aspirin are consumed per year, with a major
portion utilized for the relief of headache. Unfortunetely this is a temporary solution that masks a much more
complicated condition.
A STUDY OF 6,000 PEOPLE WHO SUFFERED FROM RECURRING HEADACHES
FOR 2 TO 25 YEARS SHOWED THAT
SPINE INJURY WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IN THE CAUSE OF THE HEADACHE.
At Hancock Chiropractic we will do all the needed tests to find the cause of your
headaches. We will then present you with a suggested treatment plan.
